www.gobcclerk.com will remain available for searching and purchasing documents. E-filings of civil actions can be done through the NYSCEF e-filing system.* Land documents and other recordings can be submitted through one of 4 platforms: Simplifile, CSC, ePartners Network and Indecomm.
*Due to the suspension of civil statutes of limitation by the Governor's executive order 202.8, effective immediately, all new Court filings, either e-filed or hard copy, that are not essential matters, will NOT be accepted.
Welcome to the Broome County Clerk's Office! The County Clerk is the Records Management Officer for all the records in Broome County and is an agent to the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles. The office is broken into three divisions:
1. County Clerk's Office: The Broome County Clerk’s Office oversees the processing, filing, scanning and storing of thousands of vital property, business and court documents every year. We oversee records dating back to 1806 including deeds, mortgages, judgments, liens, maps, civil and criminal actions. Our staff assists thousands of people each year with their filing and searching of these public documents.
Many of these documents are now available online at www.gobcclerk.com. Here you can find land records dating back to 1946 and court documents going back to 1986.
2. The Department of Motor Vehicles: The DMV provides original and renewal vehicle registrations, driver’s licenses and learner permits. The DMV is responsible for issuing conditional and restricted license and non-driver identification cards in accordance to New York State Federal Rules and Regulations.
Please visit one of our two local DMV offices at 81 Chenango St, Binghamton or 137 Washington Ave, Endicott or one of our four satellite offices (a schedule of these offices can be found here). When you visit our local DMV offices in person, Broome County retains 12.7% of your transaction revenue; when you mail it to Albany, the State government keeps all of the fees.
3. Records Management: The Records Management division is responsible for storing and maintaining County Records as well as overseeing the proper retention and destruction based on New York State Guidelines.

Are you taking a trip soon? The Broome County Clerk’s Office offers a variety of services to accommodate your travel needs.
After October 1, 2021, only the Enhanced License or REAL ID will be accepted to get on a domestic flight and enter certain federal buildings or military bases (unless you have a passport). If you plan to travel, we recommend you upgrade to the Enhanced License or REAL ID before 2021.
Do you need to renew or apply for a passport? The Broome County Clerk's Office is a certified passport agency. You can find information on passport requirements and fees here. We are also excited to announce the Broome County Clerk's Office now sells E-ZPasses! Stop by the office to purchase one before your next road trip.
